The Living Room
It’s called a living room for a reason – it’s supposed to be lived in! I don’t understand why some people have living rooms that don’t get touched. Why buy the extra furniture if it’s not going to be enjoyed? Maybe it’s only used during the holidays when you need extra seating, but either way, it always looks so cold and uninviting.
I have compiled a list of my favorite Amazon finds to make your living room a cozy haven! It should be a warm, inviting space where you shouldn’t be too scared to drop some crumbs or a splash of coffee. The living room is where you spend the majority of your time, it should be decorated with things that express who you are. I hope this list will help you find things to make your living room express who you are!
My Favorites:
I can’t stand getting up to turn the light off or on. This remote control light and remote controlled electric candles are heavenly.. just make sure you keep the remotes close to the couch so you don’t have to get up to find them! You should probably keep them on this handy couch tray!
Being lazy can also be luxurious. I’m a big reader and a kindle lover – my favorite combo is the kindle remote, kindle/tablet stand, and a fluffy blanket that you’ll never need to take your arms out of, unless it’s for a sip of your drink of choice – I prefer herbal tea when I read.
I work from home and some days I just love sitting on the couch instead of my home office. This pop-up coffee table makes working on the couch possible! It’s also perfect for those of you who always eat dinner in the living room!
Okay – I added some tech to this list and you have to hear me out:
A set of security cameras that have unintentionally captured us telling our parents we were pregnant, captured our son’s first steps (and our friend falling down a set of stairs which was hilarious – he was safe), helped us keep an eye on our cats while away for a few days, and overall provide a sense of security. The best part? They are SO affordable!
A Google Nest thermostat. Can I tell you how many times I have gone up to bed and texted my husband to turn the thermostat up or down? Or how many times we forgot to turn it up or down before leaving the house for a few days? Being able to do this on my phone has been so incredibly helpful.
Maybe you don’t play video games – but we do! Even our son. The most family-friendly gaming console is the Nintendo Switch. My husband and I have each had one since they came out and they were a lifesaver during the pandemic. Now, my son beats them both up. He’s dropped them a million times and surprisingly, they still work!
We LOVE our Roborock vacuums. We put our older one upstairs to clean our bedrooms and got a newer one for downstairs. We have tried other brands and returned them because they didn’t plan out the room, they blindly moved around and took 10x longer to clean. So, we’re sticking to what we know and we love this brand!
